Storage Discussions Including Storage Units.
| How do you reuse your old food containers? | | Recently, I rediscovered the joys of recycling food containers into usable storage containers. Right now, I have four food containers that are also serving as storage units for various food products. My huge sour cream container is holding yesterday's Chinese rice dish. A giant plastic peanut butter jar is holding some taco meat mix from two days ago. And, the mashed potato bucket (from Country Crock) is being used to store my craft supplies and buttons in the cabinet. Next empty mashed potato or margerine container will be used to store extra icecream. I don't like storing it in the cardboard box. These types of containers don't work well in the microwave. But, they're really nifty for storing extra servings of food or preparing lunch for the upcoming week. And, they serve as impromptu lunch containers, for times when you misplace your Tupperware! How do you reuse your food containers? How many food containers do you currently have in your home? | |
| | Yard Sale Goals... | | With summer arriving so are the yard sales and garage sales. Ppl haul all their unwanted items out to the yard or garage, slap a price tag on them and wait for ppl to show up and buy them…and ppl do. Outgrown clothes, toys, books, dishes, linens, appliances, just about anything you can think of. Some ppl but very high prices on their things b/c they want to make as much as they can and others just put a few cents just to get rid of the stuff. Rich neighborhoods tend to have high dollar items for very little money although there are exceptions to that rule.Personally when I have a yard sale, I just want to get rid of the stuff. I don’t want to have to haul it back inside again. The money mostly just goes to fill a piggy bank so what I make off it isn’t that big of an issue. I love going to yard sales and garage sales b/c you never know what great deals your going to find.It reminds me of a woman that went on Antique Roadshow with a small table she’d bought at a yard sale for $20 and then found out that the table was worth over $100,000 Now that is a deal!! Do you like yard sales or garage sales? When you have one, is it to get rid of the stuff or to make big bucks?... | |
| | What do you do with all your old Tupperware? | | As much as I love Tupperware, it does wear out eventually. Or, maybe I just get bored and stop using it. And, when that happens, I simply refuse to throw it away. It's hard to throw away a $15 container, don't you think? So, most times I recycle my Tupperware for other purposes. For instance, right now, two of my Tupperware containers are holding keys and a small stash of pocket change and one dollar bills. I wish I could find something more noble for such a useful and expensive storage unit, but I have not done so yet. Do you have any clever or useful ways to recycle your expensive Tupperware containers so that you get even more use out of them? Do you ever simply throw away your Tupperware containers? | |
| | What is your home business? | | Not including online money-making projects, what do you do to earn money from home? I buy abandoned self-storage units and sell the contents at yard sales and flea markets. I also love to crochet and sell my items at local craft bazaars. What do you do and how long have you been at it? | |
| | Somebody Stole My Christmas Tree!! | | Seriously, why would someone steal a christmas tree? I live in an apartment building so we all have storage units in the laundry room. I keep my fake tree in there in the off season. I went down there yesterday to put some boxes in it and someone had broken into it and stole, of all things, my Christmas tree! Are people really that idiotic? What is a used tree's resale value? I mean seriously did they just want to steal something to be doing it. I just don't understand people sometimes. | |
| | darksuckers | | For years the electrical utility companies have led the public to believe they were in business to supply electricity to the consumer, a service for which they charge a substantial rate. The recent accidental acquisition of secret records from a well known power company has led to a massive research campaign which positively explodes several myths and exposes the massive hoax which has been perpetrated upon the public by the powercompanies. The most common hoax promoted the false concept that light bulbs emitted light, in actuality, these 'light' bulbs actually absorb DARK which is then transported back to the power generation stations via wires. A more descriptive name has now been coined; the new scientific name is for the device is DARKSUCKER.This newsletter introduces a brief synopsis of the darksucker theory, which proves the existence of dark and establishes the fact that dark has great mass, and further, that dark is the fastest known particle in the universe. Apparently, even the celebrated Dr. Albert Einstein did not suspect the truth.. that just as COLD is the absence of HEAT, LIGHT is actually the ABSENCE of DARK... light does not really exist! The basis of... | |
| | How often do you clean out your kitchen cabinets? | | Six months ago, I went on a cleaning binge and dejunked my kitchen cabinets and finally got them organized. And, I went as far as getting those cute little storage containers for all my stuff. And, since noone uses the cabinets except for me, they stayed organized for a very long time. But, then the day rolled around when my spouse needed some neat storage containers for a project he was working on and raided my kitchen cabinets to get mine! Needless to say, my cabinets ended up a royal mess! And, now it's time to get them organized again. For the most part, I use everything in my cabinets, but now I'm lacking proper storage units for all the little odds and ends of daily life. As you can probably tell, I use my kitchen cabinets for more than just dishes. They are an essential part of my life. So, how often do you clean out or organize your kitchen cabinets? Do you have suggestions for unique or cheap ways to organize cabinets? What types of storage containers do you use to organize your cabinets or space? | |
| | Computer n Me ... | | I first saw a computer at age six.It was a minicomputer and had gigantic storage units, line printers and puch-card readers.I am told that it was
one of the first commercial machines to come to India. Many many years have passed since then.I have had my own PC for the last 11 years. And I have realised one thing-that your computer counts for nothing. You are the slave of the current technology.By this I mean you are only as good as your last upgrade. You are only as effective as the last bit of software you purchased. No matter how well you have maintained your PC it counts for nothing. If you work within a very tight budget as I do this becomes very difficult. For the fear of obsoloscencealways looms large on the horizon. And the newest developments are often very beneficial for your machine. Not only must you be ready to spend heavily but it helps to remain informed.Read all the books, magazines and newspapers you can and utilise the advice of experts like Bill Gates/Esther Dyson/Nicholas Negroponte etc.The scope of their articles is often so wide that it affects the average user.Another point I would like to make is that all the bells and whistles of your system should be used.It helps... | |
| | Are you dying to freeze? | | The cryopreservation of human beings has always fascinated me. It raises so many questions: What would it be like to "fall asleep" and wake up years later, after every human being that was living on the planet while you were "awake" has long since died. If the human body does, indeed, contain a soul, has that soul moved on to the next realm of existence, be that what it may? I know, I know . . . I digress. Perhaps I have read one too many science fiction novels. Perhaps.I'm not sure how many of you are aware of this, but there is a non-profit organization out there, somewhere in Arizona, that employs the use of cryonics. If you'd like, have a look at their website: http://www.alcor.org/My question is this: If you knew you were dying and it was within your power to have yourself cryopreserved, would you do it? What would the ramifications be? Please, elaborate. You may have noticed the image that I added, if not, take a peek. That's what the whole body storage units look like over at Alcor. Freaky! | |
| | Need advice on marketing an Ebook | | I have written a report on how to make money buying and selling contents of abandoned storage units. What would be the most effective way to market this as an Ebook? I really don't know much about marketing, any advice would be appreciated. | |
